charger

Definitions

charge comes via Old French chargier from Latin carricare 'to load a wagon' (carrus, cart). A charger is 'one that loads': it loads a battery with power, and a warhorse was the mount you 'loaded' for a charge into battle. Same root, two specialized senses.
