correspond

释义

cor-（共同，con- 的变体）+ respond（回答）=「一起回答」。两样东西 correspond，就是彼此呼应——相符、对得上。两个人 correspond，就是彼此通过书信回答。同一个「相互回答」的概念生出两层含义：相符，与书信往来。
